Dear disciples!

Yesterday, the 3rd July 2021, the Wisdom Enlightenment course has finished with the last lecture after nine months, with one class every 2 weeks which means 2.700 minutes in total for disciples of Cao Dieu group. Almost every disciple has performed well to the course’s expectations and presented a thorough understanding after each lecture. Some disciples even showed extraordinary reflection on the lectures than I expected. The most important thing that I wanted to emphasize is that each disciple has shown the ability of independent thinking, while still following the right track of Dharma. Therefore, the teaching and learning activities throughout the course can be seen as a whole as a colorful picture which is very impressive to look at from all different angles. Surely all the holy saints will be pleased!

Dear disciples!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a “village teacher” though, among my current students and disciples, there are some who have gained master’s and doctoral degrees. Years ago, I used to stand on the podium as a teacher. In the present, I sit cross-legged on a throne for three hours, and 4 hours at the longest (for the lecture on 20 June 2021). Years ago, my class used to be as noisy as a crowded market and my throat suffered from the pain because I had to scold them sometimes. In the present, every session of lecture witness a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Years ago, I often gave a one-period lecture (which lengthens for 45 minutes) for each class. In the present, the length of time does not depend on any school rules at all. Occasionally, if I was so immersed in the lecture, it could last for 3 hours straight which caused the disciples to suffer and end up in their deep sighs, and the only thing they could do was praying that the lecture would stop soon so that they could enjoy their dinner. Years ago, my students came to class just because that was their only obligation. In the present, some of my disciples and students skipped the lectures because of their worldly affairs and social activities. I absolutely sympathized! Years ago, my students attended the class to gain high scores. In the present, my disciples voluntarily attended to listen to my lecture because they wanted to accumulate merits and to enlighten the wisdom accordingly. Why are there these differences, my disciples? Because years ago, teaching was just a part of my job; while in the present, I give teachings to my disciples as the Director of the Institute of Psychology Research and Pure Mind Yoga Application, and as a Founder of Pure Mind Dharma lineage.

In the past, I became a teacher in a heavy mood because at that time teaching was the last thing that one could choose to make a living. There was a catchphrase that was trending formerly that said: “First comes Medical science, second comes Pharmaceutical science, then comes Science and Technology, and the last comes Pedagogy”. Every time I answered the question about my occupation to someone as a teacher, it was unavoidable to receive such pitiful looks from them. In the past, I had learned a lot, but what I taught my students was so little. In the present, I could freely give lectures to my disciples and students because you all have been well-equipped with a high level of awareness, perception, and information processing. For all these reasons, I decided to quit my teaching job after 5 years and switched my professionalism into a journalist and a translator. It was then bitter and hard for me to work as an amateur journalist and translator to make a living at that time in Danang city. Then I moved to the South as an exile who looked for a way to make a better life and had no idea about the returning day. Then the luck finally came to me when I was offered the opportunity to work at Ho Chi Minh Police Newspaper Editorial office. However, I still could not sense the inner peace, even though money and the inferiority complex of professionalism had not been an issue to me anymore. It seemed to me that those days would also become memories when the retirement age had come close. But it was another unexpected turn of my life, which resulting from “karma condition” from earlier lives, I spin the wheel of my life and started “teaching” again! The podium was replaced by the throne, the Russian language was replaced by Buddhist teachings, the class space was replaced by the meditation hall. And I will keep teaching until my health does not allow me to do so..

Dear disciples!

Saturday morning started with birds chirping and sunshine which gave us the hope of a beautiful day

Saturday morning started with birds chirping and sunshine which gave us the hope of a beautiful day, however, the evening came with torrential rain, rumbling sound of the thunder, and flash of lightning resounded in the gray sky. Unfortunately, that was exactly the time I started my lecture as usual which was planned with two main parts. The first part was to inform the news and to review homework which often lengthens around 1 – 1.5 hours. If the rain kept pouring so hard, and the sound of heavy rain kept bothering the lecture’s quality, it would last another 1 – 1.5 hours to finish the second part (new lesson, prayer, and transference of merits). In that case, I could not save my voice throughout that long session, which means the prayer that we had made for the course the run smoothly from the beginning, the middle, and the ending was not answered? It was a bit strange because it has never rained in the evening throughout these 9 months. There were just a few light showers of rain during the season. However, at our last lecture, it rained cats and dogs. Electricity was also interrupted as well! Nonetheless, these barriers did not hinder us at all! I moved all the necessary equipment from the meditation hall to the living room, using our private electricity generator to revive the power source. After 10 minutes, the rain stopped, and we kept using the power from the electricity generator! Thereby, this kind of incident teaches us a lesson of being well-prepared in all situations, do not wait until we are stuck in the situation in which “it is too late to lock the stable door when the horse is stolen”.

The rumbling sound of the thunder and flash of lightning resounded in the gray sky

Anyway, encountering such an expected incident, I am more appreciated the blessings from Guru, Avalokiteshvara, Dakini through the awakening channel of ours. Even it was illustrated in reality as an angry natural phenomena (or rather the evil force from evil spirits), the atmosphere of our class was watered by the nectar essence which helped to bring a breeze to calm out hearts with good news from abroad coming at the right time, at the end of the course. The good news is that Song Nguyen Tantra House has welcomed new Tantra House groups in the Philippines with 82 learners, and in the Americas (the US, Australia, Canada) with 40 learners, and one upcoming group of learners in Europe next month. So, we have done it very well the 3rd Article, section C specified in Permitted functions issued from Decision No.199/QD-LHHVN by Dr. Dang Vu Minh, the Chairman of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) signed on the 5th March 2018 in Hanoi. Simultaneously we have complied with all the terms and conditions stipulated in the Certificate of registration of science and technology No.A-1890 signed by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh on the 6th October 2021 (first registered on 18 March 2018) in Hanoi.

I suddenly recall the prophecy verse that I wrote in spring 2013 which has come true:

Spring comes, the fragrance of Dharma flower is ubiquitous

Bodhicitta has been spreading out to all directions

Song Nguyen Tantra House has set sail with the wind blowing

Heading to the land of the eternal happiness of true Dharma

Song Nguyen Tantra House has set sail with the wind blowing.  Heading to the land of the eternal happiness of true Dharma

The great ship has sailed, the Prajna vessel has set off, we will keep setting out scaling the summit and facing the water to wherever there are sentient beings who are sharing the favorable circumstance with Pure Mind Dharma. I acknowledge all your contributions in generating Bodhicitta to help other sentient beings, in fighting strongly against the wrong views, as well as your diamond-like integrity and loyalty that you have always been demonstrating. I pray for the pandemic to end soon, and all the sentient beings’ sufferings to be calmed. I especially pray for Pure Mind Dharma to spread all over the world for the benefit of sentient beings, like a small fire that warms the long night of samsara.

Om mani padme hum!

A rainy day on the top of Phu Van Mountain, 4 July 2021.

    Reverent Guruji
    Good morning
I bow my head before your lotus feet
    Om Mani Padme Hum

For last, about one month I am not keeping a good health. I was asked by the University to scrutinise the merit list of the tentative candidates prepared for their promotion to the post of Professor. My wife and friends said that it was my fault to accept it, but out of compassion, generated after going through a number of Guru’s articles and commenting on them, I could not check my temptation of helping the teachers of the college and University who were waiting for their promotion for a longer period. And I went to Patna, though by car, and caught by the exposure of rainy wind and fall ill. I was suffering of cough cold and fever. My family members consulted the Physician and the treatment of corona started, though I was not suffering of that. Though I was recuperated in 6 days but still I am facing the side effects of strong and heavy doses of antibiotic like weakness, headache and many more. I was lying on the bed but my friend sent me this article of Guru’s exciting experience of teaching to a large gathering of disciples coming from the different parts of the globe for two weeks like a regular teacher. It was a boon in disguise as I was facing the boring situation and this has brought a ray of hope of replacing it through the pleasure reading.
Gurujee, I am so delighted to read this article, i cannot express it. I have just retired from this prestigious teaching profession. I can understand the pleasure of engaging the classes. Even after that I deliver lectures in webinars. Rose Tran knows it as she has also delivered two lectures along with me for Indian audience. Though my retirement benefit papers have not been processed but I am happy from within to know about your continuous lectures address to the global audience. I crave it also.
I, from the core of my heart, express my congratulations for doing a sublime job of enlightening the disciples regularly for 09 months.
    Om Mani Padme Hum
May the entire world be free from Corona tragedy
    Long live our Guru

  29. Tantra Midhita says:

Venerable Guru, greetings and a good morrow to you, dear sir.

You continue to amaze, and this homage to our success, and exemplary scenario of your diligence throughout your growing mastery shines through.

I have constructed based on your teachings over time, a riddle that has no wrong answers, but three are the most correct, to varying levels of interpretation.

I would like to share it with you, for you have taught it to me without instructing me as such.

    ~What is always a master, yet forever a student?~

My initial answer is my chosen answer, but any answer that appreciates the riddle, appreciates itself further with wise thoughtfulness in response

Most specifically, my answer is Salvia officinalis. It is the common “Sage” in Layman, or an even more simply appropriate answer: A Flower.

But really the riddle has Exponential or near infinite “correct answers”, with the correctness measured by how well you perceive the question itself.

One of my favorite answers a lot of friends recite to me is “a human”. Again, there is no real answer to the riddle, it is indeed one to make others think.

    We are the answer, Guru.

There are always more steps to climb, more to be had, and to attach to any one specific train of thought too long, is to stop and smell the flowers, but to linger too long is to procrastinate on one’s continuous journey.

Eventually the vessel of man does cease to function, but what we attain throughout our journey is not ours alone, as long as we are mindful to reciprocate the teachings that mean the most to us, in ways that others too can perceive what is intended throughout, no matter the words chosen.

You have watered this plant well, master, and it shall continue growing and blossoming, until its time comes to return to the cycle at yet another crossroad.

Some say you “meet people twice”, and while I cannot affirm your journey against mine, I hope someday to meet in person, if not in place and time, perhaps someday on some scale of perception.

Perhaps one day I will live as a tree, in the realest sense, and may one day indeed share a Grove again with Guru, and that is something I sincerely hope for.

I am no fortune-teller, but I have a skill of deep contemplation and reflection, or so I feel.

    I have no foresight.

I can only guess as to what may come for myself and myself alone, but I am thankful to have lived this life with a most thoughtful Guru, putting forth their time and effort, for my success.

I sometimes do not think I am worth such effort.

Guru has let me know in many of his teachings on the wisdom of Buddha, that this simply is not so, and for that I am thankful.

May all who seek, receive as they wish to yield, both bountiful in blessings and greatness through furthered enlightenment.

    Om mani padme hum

Thank you for your comment! It is always good to consciously making sense of things around us, however, the Buddha once taught us that “Worry about things that are not worth being worried about will increase affliction. Do not worry those things that are worth being worried about will also increase affliction”. For Buddhist followers, we should employ our reason on matters based on Dharma teachings, not on any other sources. It is important to remember not to trust our minds’ judgment before attaining full enlightenment. I hope it will be helpful for you to reflect on your way of thinking. Om mani padme hum.

  30. Tantra Amishuta says:

    Dear Holy Guru,
I happened to come across this letter again today in a time I need to read these words desperately. From this lesson I currently apply it to my situation. Though things are difficult it is good to prepare for what may come and to realize merit will bring what we need. I am in a difficult part right now with many things going on that are impermanent and uncertain. My fears are getting the best of me but I am doing what I an to prepare for the worst and pray, listen to your (guru’s) lessons that have become so important to me. I have belief in all you have taught me and feared that I was feeling wrong because of all I’ve learned from your lessons. I spoke to a dharma friend who assured me this was not true and that feelings are part of life. I feared that I would do more harm than good reading articles and practicing dharma in such a state of mind but was assured that if ill I would need medicine, if spiritually ill I need dharma and you my holy guru. Thank you for being here for your learners and disciples. I’m so pleased to be one of your learners. I have seen so many good things in my life because of the merit you have transferred to me and the merit you have allowed me to gain. As I see today as I cry, I know the lessons are vital to my path that you have set before me. You are my only path to liberation and freedom from suffering. I look up to you as well. I wish to one day have the knowledge and confidence to also teach dharma lessons. I thank you for giving me the rare opportunity to learn buddhism from a wonderful and true Guru. Thank you again. May you be well for the sake of all sentient beings. May all sentient beings be free from suffering and find the path to liberation. Om Mani Padme Hum
